The Emergency Preparedness and Response Training Seminar was held on Thursday, March 26, 2009, at the Paragon Resort in Marksville, Louisiana. The seminar was made possible through a federal grant issued by the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement.
To continue our commitment in providing education and support to statewide and local law enforcement agencies in their emergency preparedness efforts, we have made the training materials available online to view or download. The following educational materials can be found in the More Resources section of this page:
Emergency Preparedness & Response Reference Manual
This manual provides law enforcement officials and other emergency responders with a useful guide on emergency preparedness laws. The information found in this manual is intended to increase your understanding of your agency’s legal rights, responsibilities, and limitations during an emergency. The Emergency Preparedness and Response Reference Manual also contains information on how to properly facilitate and communicate on federal and state levels for assistance before, during, and after an emergency situation. Important facts and laws on the management of disasters and devastation in your area are also provided in the manual. Please note that the laws in the Emergency Preparedness and Response Reference Manual are accurate as of the date of publication, January 20, 2009.
Emergency Preparedness and Response Training Videos
A series of training videos are available for you to download and view at your convenience. These educational videos feature each presentation given at the 2009 training seminar. The videos can be used as a training resource for those law enforcement agents who were unable to attend the training seminar or as a refresher course for those individuals present at the training. Because this training has been created specifically for law enforcement officials, officers and other emergency responders, you will have to enter a username
to access and download the videos.
If you have not received a username and password, but feel you may be eligible to complete the training course or are having difficulty accessing the training videos with your issued username and password, please contact Duane Black, Law Enforcement Coordinator, at (225) 326-6764 or email@example.com.
