General Landry: We are grateful for the tremendous outpouring of support from our State, across our Nation, and around the world. To ensure their donations actually reach those they intend to help, we are urging contributors to use their best judgment and take some simple precautions.

General Landry: Baton Rouge and all of Louisiana are hurting from Sunday’s senseless tragedy, and I will not leave them during this dark time.

General Landry: Louisiana citizens can be assured that the LADOJ will continue to work with all law enforcement agencies in efforts to prevent these types of heinous acts.

General Landry: My office is dedicated to investigating, arresting, and prosecuting those who attempt to defraud programs intended to help the people of Louisiana.

General Landry: I encourage consumers and business owners to utilize our office’s resources designed to help detect, fight, and stop fraud.

General Landry: In a concise and incisive opinion – D.C. Circuit Judges Brown, Millett, and Ginsburg affirmed the basic principle in constitutional law that dictates agencies may act only when and how Congress lets them.

General Landry: The Louisiana Department of Justice trusts the federal government will prepare a full, fair, and thorough investigation in this matter; and we look forward to fulfilling our responsibilities upon completion of the investigation and receipt of the complete investigative materials.

General Landry: We will be following the Federal investigation and provide all resources necessary to fulfill requests, made to our office, by any agency involved in this tragic incident.

General Landry: The Bayou Chene Flood Protection Project is a critical component to the State's Coastal Master Plan and a grave matter of public safety. This court ruling is a victory for the people of St. Mary Parish and those in the surrounding areas.

General Landry: Today’s announcement is part of our efforts to support our State's prosecutors and local law enforcement agencies in preventing crime and apprehending criminals.

General Landry: Obeying all local firework laws and following all firework instructions will help make our communities safer.

General Landry: My office is dedicated to investigating, arresting, and prosecuting those who commit fraud. While recent cuts to our budget may negatively impact our office’s efforts – we stay committed to eliminating fraud, waste, and abuse in Louisiana.

General Landry: Under my watch - the Louisiana Department of Justice will continue to do all we legally can to protect the unborn, their mothers, and all Louisiana women.

General Landry: Our Cyber Crime Unit, with the assistance of law enforcement partners, continue to do all we can to reduce the number of internet crimes against children. Due to recent budget cuts, our department may have to rely more on these partners to investigate and arrest child predators.

General Landry: To be a peaceful and moral society, it is imperative our children learn right from wrong.

General Landry: We are committed to ruling out waste, fraud, and abuse in Medicaid so we can help protect the program for people who really need the assistance.

General Landry: There is a thin blue line between law enforcement and those who intend harm. Today, two brave police officers risking their safety in the service of the public crossed that line and were met with violence.

General Landry: As I have often said – the Executive Branch cannot unilaterally make or change law, as that is the Congress or a state legislature's constitutionally valid function; today, the court confirmed that.

General Landry: Deputy Michel was a veteran officer working diligently to protect his community; his legacy of service will live forever.

General Landry: I not only support reasonable, collaborative attempts to solve the problems at the jail; but I also pledge to do my part to help in every way possible.
